RJ Spomer loves the challenge of turning his personal vision into
pieces of artwork that will be treasured for generations. He designs
each "RJ Piece" to function beautifully in people's lives, to be
esthetically pleasing, and to last for years of everyday use. Each
design is structurally sound and includes a finish that is beautiful as
well as long lasting and easy to maintain.
The tradition of creating fine furniture has inspired RJ for more than
thirty years. The artist began his career in design and construction,
and has evolved into his current business of creating functioning works
of art. RJ loves the tools and craftsmanship of previous generations of
furniture builders. His workshop is filled with tools that date back to
the late 1800's and were originally designed for craftsmen working in
Arts and Crafts, Art Deco, Victorian, and Mission styles of furniture.
RJ loves refitting these tools and the sense of tradition in using them
to create unique contemporary works of art.
